About this app

What is Memorion?
• a universal flashcard learning program WITHOUT ads
• based on an advanced 'spaced repetition' algorithm
• 10-50 times more efficient than memorizing paper flashcards
• has FREE vocabulary in 38 languages built-in, 700-12 000 words each
• has many, many functions (see below)
• it has extensive help functions
• the user interface is English only

What is Memorion NOT?
• an all-in-one language course
• a 3-button-wonder to just learn 50 words for the next vacation (like 95% of all other flashcard apps in the store)
• the simplest program in the store (it is just too powerful)

NOTE: Memorion can become addictive, once you start feeling its power

Functions (a selection):
• true multi-directional learning with flashcards
• 11 fun game modes (hang-man, multiple-choice, listening to numbers,..)
• up to 8 text fields per card (to use for gender, examples, extra images, web links etc.)
• card stacks can be downloaded from Anki, Memrise
• designed for large databases (I have >20 000 cards in mine), with multi-level sub-stacks
• 27 charts to document the learning progress

• multiple-choice, whiteboard, different keyboards and speech recognition as 5 out of 18 answer options
• wizards for image searches, photos, audio recording and translations
• Cloze texts fully supported
• import files from Anki, AnyMemo, text, MS Word, Excel and Libre Office
• fully integrated dictionaries from the Open Dictionary API Alliance (PONS, SlovoEd, etc.)
• dictionary support for Google Translate, PONS and Leo online, ColorDict, dict.cc and 100+ others from Langenscheidt, VOX etc.

• Wikipedia support
• Text-To-Speech (TTS) with on-the-fly reading replacements
• Hint management
• a user tour through the important program features
• multiple users with separate databases on the same device
• links between related cards, with mutual updating
• cards can be linked to cite each other
• functions to organize stacks and cards
• search, filter, and sort cards
• tablet-adapted layouts
• optimized gestures for single-handed use, to repeat cards while walking
• dozens of gestures for power-users (faster access, more functions)

Goodies:
color-coding of genders, 'Undo' last answer, awards, LaTeX, verb conjugations

Looked at many apps. This is the only one that has it all. The only negative is that there is so much customization that you can do, I still have not figured it all out yet. In the simple mode, it's great. Spaced learning, indefinite languages and unlimited stacks. The only feature missing is a pop up to remind you to review you sets when the phone is closed.

One thing that really makes this app so good is that it has a few options for the whole interface, from more simple to more complex. I started out with the beginner mode, which was not as intimidating as some apps. And with the confidence that gave me, now I am experimenting with the other modes when I want to do something more complex. I'm also finding plenty of flashcards available with the app.

Too complicated - can't figure out how to use it for what I want. I wanted to create cards that I rec the audio. This app is way too complicated for creating your own cards. I can't even figure out how to delete my test stack of cards. It's okay for studying cards that are already created and using their audio (tts). But just trying to delete something has got me stumped for over an hour. It's probably good if you're not interested in creating or having control of what you create.

One question: Are you still in the (very function-reduced) Beginner mode? Switch to the Advanced mode, select a card or stack by long-clicking it and the Delete button appears on the bottom. If you have more questions, please contact me via memorion@gmx.net.

What's new

v13.6.6 Bugfix for crash on start-up for a few users

v13.6
• Added a tour to the BeginnerMode
• CardView in AdvancedMode can be better configured

v13.5
• Help system redone
• Live search in Help, learn history and stack names added
• new color schemes, color schemes have more effect
• More gestures, preferences and FAQ entries

Important: if you cannot update, make sure that Memorion is installed in flash memory, not on the SD card
